Challenge Based Fundraising
As the pioneers of challenged based fundraising, FunRaisen has revolutionized the way organizations generate the funds they need to keep moving forward. So, what is challenge based fundraising? On our platform, participants are presented with hundreds of unique challenges that they can complete to earn funds for their organization’s campaign. Some of those challenges are quirky, some involve doing good in the community, others require some creativity, and some even require learning a new skill. This model allows all participants of all backgrounds, abilities and interests the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of fundraising challenges that all benefit the same organization.
More Challenges = More Funds
The majority of sponsors on FunRaisen use our ‘per challenge pledge’ option. What does this mean for your campaign? For every challenge completed by the participant, the sponsor has pledged to donate a set amount to that participant’s campaign. The more challenges completed, the more funds raised for your organization. With hundreds of challenges available at any given time, the sky is the limit when it comes to your fundraising goal!
Easy For All
Navigating through our FunRaisen portal is simple and easy to quickly pick up! Whether accessing from a computer or from a mobile device, all users will experience the same ease of use. FunRaisen was built to support participants from the age of 5 to 95, so regardless how tech savvy a user may be, the only hurdle to overcome is which challenge you want to complete first!
Why It Works
As seen time and time again through challenges like the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge,’ the ‘Mannequin Challenge,’ and the ‘Fluff Challenge’ (the one where you hide behind a sheet and trick your pet into thinking you’ve vanished), people not only love participating, but sharing in the enjoyment of their friends, family, and loved ones who are involved with these challenges. Those who sponsor their participant are not always able to be physically there to share in the joy of the their loved ones activities and fun, but with FunRaisen, everyone is able to stay connected. Whether sharing a laugh at a ridiculous challenge, or being proud together of a new accomplishment achieved, or even cringing together at the taste of a homemade concoction made of only yellow ingredients, the connection FunRaisen offers to everyone involved is the key to your campaign’s success!
After the admin has set up their campaign, its time for the participants to get started. Our simple sign up process for participants is just 3 easy steps and they are ready to rock and roll! Parents and guardians of all participants 13 years old or younger will be notified of their participants registration and have to option to deny access to the platform. All user registration information is completely secure and never given out or sold to any 3rd parties!
After signing up to participate, the next step is to let everyone know! Participants have a separate ‘invite’ tab within their dashboard that allows them to invite as many potential sponsors as they wish. Either via email or text message, users can send up to 20 pre-written invitations at once with a single button click! Parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, co-workers, friends… this is the time to let everyone know they can join in on the FUN!
Just like that, participants are now ready to begin completing their challenges! On their dashboard, they will see the ‘challenges’ tab which shows them exactly how many challenges are available, which categories those challenges fall under, and how much time is remaining for them to complete! Users can toggle between already completed challenges to the ones still remaining, they can sort them by category, and even search for specific ones on this page!
Get a deeper look at the challenge before doing it yourself. Participants will be able to click directly on the challenge to get a brief overview of the objective and even see a few examples of the challenge already completed. From this screen, users will be able to upload their own images and videos, add a title and description to their upload, and share it to their feed for their sponsors to see!
Stay active, get creative, go do good in your community, get out of your comfort zone and do something quirky… With hundreds upon hundreds of challenges available to the participants, there is unending opportunity to find challenges that fit everyone’s unique styles. After completing multiple challenges, they will be scrollable in the participants and sponsors feed. Each challenge is up to the participant on how they want to complete it! Get your friends and family involved, do something outside the box, and most importantly; make sure you are having FUN!
Creative Arts:
- X marks the spot: Hide a small ’treasure’ in your community, then draw a detailed map and give it to someone to find!
- Pillow fort: Create the biggest and best fort you can with pillows and blankets. Don’t let anyone in without the password!
- Movie Rap: Pick your favorite movie, then create a rap about the plot line!
Community:
- Park Pickup: Go to your local park and pick up at least 25 pieces of trash on the ground! Be sure to use gloves!
- Volunteer: Find your favorite local charity and volunteer at least an hour of your time helping out!
- Art is everywhere: Go out in your city and find a local piece of art (statue, mural…etc) and take a picture in front of it!
Active:
- Hardcore parkour: Find somewhere outdoors to show off your best parkour moves, be safe!
- Joining Jumping Jacks: Get someone to join you in doing at least 25 jumping jacks!
- Rolling hills: On the biggest grassy hill you can find, roll down it. Then sprint back to the top as fast as you can!
Food:
- Cupcake Cosmetics: Put some makeup on yourself, the twist – you can only use cupcake ingredients!
- Rainbow Sandwich: Make yourself a sandwich using 1 ingredient from every color of the rainbow, you must take a bite!
- Drink your dinner: Its dinner time, take what you are having for dinner and make it into a smoothie!
Positivity:
- Ransom note: Cut out letters from a magazine and make an uplifting “ransom note”, then leave it for someone to find!
- Friendly reminder: Call someone you haven’t spoken to in awhile and let them know why you appreciate them!
- Be of service: Ask someone close to you how you can brighten their day, then go above and beyond their request!
Quirky:
- Palm reader: Give someone a palm reading and make up the most ridiculous future you can think of!
- Awkward selfie: Get out in public and take the most awkward selfie you can think of!
- Animal actor: Pick 5 animals and have someone guess them as you act them out… you cannot make any noises!
Sports:
- Soccer Circus: Juggle a soccer ball at least 5 times in a row, don’t forget, no hands!
- Touchdown celebration: Act like you’ve just scored a touchdown and come up with your own celebration dance!
- Sleepy shooter: Lay down on a basketball court and with your eyes closed, make a basket. Bonus points if nothing but net!!!
